Norisol Gets a New Majority Owner and More Resources to Support Its Growth

Norisol's Management Team Unites After Waterland Becomes New Majority Owner

Waterland is acquiring a majority stake, and the existing group of shareholders, led by MS2 Invest, will remain as co-owners. For customers and employees, business will continue as usual, with the same people working on the projects and the same management team.

Norisol has a new majority owner. The European private equity firm Waterland is acquiring a majority stake, while the existing group of owners will remain as co-owners, including MS2 Invest, which has owned the company since 2018.

The change in ownership gives Norisol more financial backing and access to the expertise of other European service companies. This makes it easier to invest in development.

Nothing will change for customers

For customers, the change in ownership will not affect their day-to-day operations. The same people will continue to work on the projects, ongoing agreements will continue unchanged, and the management team will continue under the leadership of Lars Bork Hansen.

“Norisol has become a company that others want to invest in. To our customers and employees, I would like to emphasize that we will continue with the same focus and high level of professionalism that our customers have come to expect from us. With Waterland’s backing, we’ll have more resources to develop the company and pursue the growth opportunities that lie ahead, both in Denmark and internationally,” says Lars Bork Hansen, CEO of Norisol.

Several years of growth provide the backdrop

Since 2018, Norisol has focused its efforts on its core business in Denmark. Today, Norisol is an integral part of projects in the energy sector, the maritime sector, the pharmaceutical industry, data centers, the food industry, the defense sector, and CO₂ capture and storage.

Behind this progress are Norisol’s employees. It is their expertise, dedication, and daily efforts that have laid the strong foundation on which we are now building.

“When we acquired the company in 2018, there was great potential, but also a need to refocus the business. We’ve succeeded in doing so through close collaboration with management and employees. That’s why now is the right time to bring in a new majority owner who can contribute capital, experience, and perspective for the next phase. We have great faith in Norisol and will therefore continue as a co-owner,” says Per Christensen, CEO of MS2 Invest.

Waterland Sees a Nordic Growth Market

At Waterland, it has been Norisol’s market position in particular that has caught their interest.

“We have been monitoring the industrial services market in the Nordic region for some time and see significant long-term potential. Norisol stands out with its strong market position, broad customer base, and well-developed commercial and operational platform. We look forward to supporting the next phase of growth together with management and the other shareholders,” says Nicklas Guldberg, Principal at Waterland.
